About the NKHS Robotics Program:
The North Kingstown High School Robotics Program has been taking part in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics competition since 2007, and the FIRST Lego League (FLL) robotics competition since 2019. In that time, our program has grown exponentially, expanding from one team of five members to 100 members spread over seven teams. Our teams are award-winning groups of students who are highly acclaimed for their engineering notebooks, robot performance and design, team spirit, community outreach and leadership skills, and our own Team 701, The GONK Squad, is most notably known as the Inspire Award winner at the 2019 Vermont FTC Championship and Winning Alliance Captain at the 2020 Rhode Island State Championship, qualifying them as a competitor for the 2019 and 2020 FIRST World Championships in Detroit, Michigan.
