Grab & Go: Junk Journals
When: Thursday, July 20, Pickup 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Where: Clubhouse Library
Have you heard about junk journals? Junk journals are fun and creative books that can be used to write, create art, or record memories, ideas and inspiration. Junk Journals are typically made from many different papers and materials that might usually be thrown away. (That's how they came to be named junk journals!)
For this Grab & Go, you will make your own pamphlet style junk journal by choosing your papers, creating and decorating signatures (groupings of pages), and assembling them to make a book. When you're finished you'll have a perfect book for use as a diary, planner, scrapbook, or art journal.
Junk Journal Creator Extraordinaire, Judy Kinzel, says "Don't be intimidated by the blank pages of expensive journals and sketchbooks. Make your own junk journal and find your creative voice!" (For tweens, teens & adults; registration required)
Please note: registration for this program opens Thursday, July 13.
The statewide Rhode Island Summer Reading Program is supported by the RI Office of Library and Information Services, with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Special thanks to the Friends of the Jamestown Library.
