Originalism vs Living Constitutionalism

Saturday, March 11

2:00 p.m.

Jamestown Senior Center

A talk by Christopher Parker PhD, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Pre-Law Advisor, University of Rhode Island.

Originalists argue that the meaning of the constitutional text is fixed and that it should bind constitutional actors.

Constitutionalists contend that constitutional law can and should evolve in response to changing circumstances and values.

This is sure to be a sure to be a thought-provoking program!
