Sponsored by the Jamestown Tree Preservation and Protection Committee, get practical advice on when, how and why to prune trees for their best health.
We will meet briefly in the meeting room for an overview of pruning, then go outside to the Katsura tree on the library grounds. Tree Committee member and certified arborist Andrew Hunter will demonstrate and discuss correct pruning. Please dress for the weather. AARP Tax Aide volunteers provide free income tax preparation, beginning the week of February 1. AARP volunteers are certained by the US IRS to prepare most common returns for low and moderate income taxpayers. All Returns are Quality Reviewed and electronically filed. Refunds are usually received within two to three weeks after filing.

The next meeting of the Grades 7 and Up Book Club will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at 4:00 p.m. We will be discussing The Speaker: Book Two of Sea of Ink and Gold by Traci Chee.
A Movie for the Whole Family!
Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.
Children of all ages are invited to attend the Lego Club. We are going back to the old format, where we have a theme each week and build on that theme. We typically build for 50 minutes and spend the last 10 minutes sharing our creations.
Participants 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
This event is part of the Jamestown Speakers Series. The talk will feature Mary Beth Daigneault, who oversees the day-to- day operations of St. Clare-Newport and a is well respected health care administrator. She will speak to our community about the challenges and opportunities facing seniors who are aging in place on the Island and those considering a transition to a senior facility. Coffee and dessert will be served at the event.
