For the Love of Books and Music

Please join us as we celebrate the magic of words & music with readings by local Rhode Island Author N. E. (Neal) Yeomans with Special Musical Guests: Brenda Bennett & Ed McGuirl.

Mr. Yeomans, a local Rhode Island author, is an up and coming new voice in America. His fiction brings you into a world that is as bizarre as it is instantly recognizable. His debut collection “Houses and Backyards” was published in 2015 and received rave reviews. Neal will be reading from his most recent collection “The Monsters I Remember” published in 2017.
Ms. Brenda Bennett is a veteran Rhode Island musician, whose career included membership in the group Vanity 6, a Prince-created female vocal trio. Although she hit her stride in the 1980’s Bennett has continued to record music into the 21st century. Her album “A Capella “ released in 2011 was well received and sold out quickly. She is currently working on a new album to be released in early 2018. (Many of you “Local Rhode Islanders” may remember Brenda best from her Ken Lyon and the Tombstone Blues Band days). She will be accompanied by the ever fabulous Ed McGuirl.
Ed plays traditional and original blues and roots music. With influences that include everything from classical and jazz to Celtic, old timey and blues. He has played in a jazz trio, a jug band, spent 10 years playing Irish traditional music, performs solo or as a duet, has done session work for various artists as well as writing and producing a number of award winning songs.
